WE ACT - BECAUSE OF THE LORD: The clergy and Faithful of the UOC of the USA Continue to Offer Humanitarian Aid in Ukraine

The donations of the faithful and clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA continue to reach the most devastated areas of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Children and elderly, nursing mothers and wounded soldiers, surviving relatives of the fallen – these are the groups of people that the UOC of the USA took under her care through the ministry of the representatives of various Deaneries and Eparchial centers of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Antony, the Charitable outreach of the UOC of the USA is distributed in the Donetsk and Mariupol Eparchy (under the leadership of Metropolitan Serhiy), through the service of Rev. Fr. Kostyantyn Kuznetsov, who oversees the delivery of the donated food and logistical items to the refugees and the men and women of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Most recently, Archbishop Daniel traveled to Trondheim, Norway to visit the wounded soldiers that are undergoing medical treatment and rehabilitation at St. Olav University hospital. A third-year student of St. Sophia Ukrainian Orthodox Theological Seminary – Reader Maksym Zhuravchyk joined Vladyka Daniel on the trip in order to visit his wounded brother – a soldier, who lost his leg and sustained major injuries in the war perpetrated by the Russian Federation against the nation and people of Ukraine.

His Eminence Metropolitan Serhiy of Donetsk region, who together with thousands of refugees, resides in Dnipro, Ukraine – continues to deliver and distribute food and daily supplies to those in need. We offer special gratitude to all volunteers, who together with their spiritual leader, serve with dedication and love those who suffer through the devastating consequences of the war.

The town of Trostyanets, Sumy region, recently lost their hospital wards due to a barbaric attack on the hospital building by a tank of Russian army. The brave soldiers and residents of the town destroyed the tank and used it for metal scrap in order to create commemorative “dog” tags and to fundraise for the rebuilding of the hospital wards in their town. Twenty-five of these tags were delivered to the United States of America and are available to the faithful and friends of the UOC of the USA in order to collect funds for the reconstruction of the hospital. UOC of the USA has been working since the start of the war in Ukraine to get critical aid to those who need it most. Through our Metropolia oriented programs and individual parish projects, we have physically transported tons of logistical supplies to the people both within Ukraine and displaced in its neighboring countries.

We continue to finance logistical medical and food deliveries in various parts of Ukraine.

Please, visit our web site for the most recent updates on our humanitarian efforts and CONTINUE TO SUPPORT US IN OUR MISSION TO HELP THE PEOPLE AND NATION OF UKRAINE!
