On Friday morning, March 11, 2022, following arrival to the ancient city of Constantinople (Istanbul, Turkey), the hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA paid a historic visit to the Consulate General of Ukraine in Istanbul.

His Eminence Metropolitan Antony and Archbishop Daniel met with the Consul General of Ukraine in Istanbul, His Excellency Roman Nedilskyi and Consul Maksym Vdovychenko at the main office of the Consulate in the city of Istanbul.

During the formal meeting, the hierarchs of the Church offered the words of support of the entire Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and Diaspora to the diplomatic staff of the Consulate and to the people of Ukraine in time of Russian aggression.

Expressing their greetings to the Ambassador of Ukraine in Turkey, His Excellency Vasyl Bodnar, the hierarchs committed the support of the UOC of the USA to the staff of the diplomatic mission of Ukraine in Istanbul, under the leadership of Consul General Roman Nedilskyi.

A lengthy discussion took place about the humanitarian aid to Ukraine that the Consulate General coordinates, offering most necessary medical and logistical support to the people of Ukraine.

The hierarchs of the UOC of the USA shared information about the charitable ministry of the Church, as humanitarian aid and funds are being offered through the European channels, especially the Ukrainian Orthodox communities in Germany and the ministry of the International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), which committed funding of humanitarian projects in Ukraine.

In conclusion of the meeting, a mutual agreement was developed in order to facilitate most necessary medical and charitable logistical support that UOC of the USA could offer to the people of Ukraine and millions of refugees in Europe, Turkey and other parts of the world.

У п’ятницю вранці, 11 березня 2022 року, відразу по прибутті до стародавнього міста Константинополя (Стамбул, Туреччина), Ієрархи Української Православної Церкви США здійснили історичний візит до Генерального Консульства України в Стамбулі.

Високопреосвященніший Митрополит Антоній і Архієпископ Даниїл зустрілися з Генеральним Консулом України в Стамбулі Романом Недільським та Консулом Максимом Вдовиченком у головному офісі Консульства в місті Стамбул.

Під час урочистої зустрічі Ієрархи Церкви висловили усім представникам дипломатичного персоналу консульства та усьому народу України слова підтримки в час російської агресії, від імені всієї Української Православної Церкви США та Діаспори.

Висловлюючи привітання Послу України в Туреччині Василю Боднару, Ієрархи запевнили у підтримці з боку УПЦ США ​​співробітникам дипломатичної місії України в Стамбулі під керівництвом Генерального Консула Романа Недільського.

Під час зустрічі, присутні провели дискусію щодо гуманітарної допомоги Україні, яку координує Генеральне Консульство, надаючи найнеобхіднішу медичну та матеріально-технічну підтримку народу України.

Ієрархи УПЦ США ​​поділилися інформацією про благодійне служіння Церкви, оскільки гуманітарна допомога та кошти передаються наразі через європейські країни, особливо через українські православні громади в Німеччині та через Міжнародну Православну Благодійну Організацію (IOCC), яка взяла на себе фінансування гуманітарних проектів в Україні.

На завершення зустрічі Ієрархи разом з представниками Консульства домовились про подальшу співпрацю з метою надання необхідної медичної та благодійної матеріально-технічної підтримки, яку УПЦ США ​​могла б передати народу України та мільйонам біженців у Європі, Туреччині та інших частинах світу.
