All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Camp Committee Meets: Plans Upcoming Year
The All Saints Ukrainian Orthodox Camp Committee gathered for its annual regular meeting of the 2014 Summer Camp season on Saturday, May 31st at All Saints Camp in Emlenton, PA. Delegates from several local parishes, including clergy participated in the open forum discussion led by the chairperson of the Cam Committee Mr. Emil Skocypec, under the spiritual leadership of His Grace Bishop Daniel, President of the Consistory of the UOC of the USA. As usual, during the course of the Camp Committee meeting, representatives from various parishes met with the Camp Manager Eric Senedak and the director of the Consistory Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry Natalie Kapeluck-Nixon to learn about the ministry of the Camp and its needs in order and to further an open dialogue between the All Saints Camp community and the rest of the Metropolia of the Church. Expressing the greetings from His Eminence Metropolitan Antony, Bishop Daniel spoke about the vision for the Camp and the vital ministry it plays in the upbringing of the youth of the Church.
Members of the Committee expressed their thoughts and desires about the upcoming Camping season and the necessary repairs, adjustments that have to be completed prior to the beginning of the Camping season. Some of the highlights of the upcoming repairs: refinishing of the driveway from the main entrance to the dining hall as well as the installation of a new roof on the dining hall.
As you may have already seen, this year there will be several weeks of Summer Encampments sponsored by the Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. More information about the encampments can be found at OYM’s web site.
Make sure to put Camp on your calendar now, because we’d love to have you there! Staff applications are available online on the OYM’s website (http://www.uocyouth.org/UOCCP.html) and while applications are not accepted on a first come first serve basis, submitting your applications early will give us the best opportunity to take your preferences into consideration when making staffing choices. So, send them in quickly!
