Congratulation Letters to the New Primates of the Church of Antioch and the Church of Bulgaria

The Council of Bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA issued letters of prayerful greetings to the newly elected Primates of the Church of Antioch and All East as well as of the Church of Bulgaria.

In the congratulatory letters the hierarchs stated:

Beloved brothers in Christ and concelebrants: Axios!

With this joyful liturgical exclamation and deep fraternal sentiments we join the clergy and laity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and the worldwide Orthodox Church in the congratulations of your election by the Church of Antioch and the Church of Bulgaria to the profound ministry of Patriarch.

We offer our humble prayers for your predecessors, who faithfully served the people of God for many years and we pray for you - the newly elected Patriarchs who will continue the work of your predecessors in equipping, renewing, strengthening and guiding the Antiochian and Bulgarian Orthodox Church within a world in need of Christian witness and service.

This is a time in the history of the world that requires gentle healing, firm leadership and great love.  Our prayer for you, Your Holiness and Your Beatitude, is that you will continue to be graced by God with the gentle healing touch of your predecessors; you will continue to be given the strength to exercise firm leadership in the spirit of the Holy Fathers of the Church; and that you will continue to open unconditionally yourself in the service of bishops, priests and laypeople that are entrusted to your parental spiritual care.

In the spirit of love, honor and thanksgiving, we send congratulations and prayers for many blessed years!

As we are about to enter into the Holy season of Great Lent and journey towards the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior, we hope and pray that you will have a blessed and joyous journey during this most Holy time of the year.

With Brotherly Love in Christ,

+ Antony,
By the Grace of God, Metropolitan of the UOC of the USA

+Daniel,
By the Grace of God, Bishop and President of Consistory
