2014 Orthodox Christian Camp and Youth Worker Conference

2014 Orthodox Youth Worker and Camping Conference

We are very excited to inform you that the Consistory Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry along with that of the American Carpatho-Russian Diocese are hosting the 2014 Orthodox Youth Worker and Camping Conference.

The conference is held with the blessing of the Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of North and Central America and is co-sponsored by all jurisdictional Orthodox Youth and Camping Departments.

This annual event which brings together Orthodox youth workers and camp staff to grow in their ministry, will take place January 23-25, 2014 at the Antiochian Village in Bolivar, PA.  It is our honor to present Fr. Thomas Hopko as the keynote speaker on the theme, Writing Icons of the Kingdom.

As Youth Workers we are "writing" icons of the Kingdom - these icons are our youth - every relationship, every program activity is a "stroke of the brush".  What do you want your icons to look like?  What kinds of icons are helping God reveal to the world?  Discover your path as the iconographer at the Orthodox Camp and Youth Worker Conference.  Three workshop tracks will be offered: youth worker, camping, and pastoral.

Registration is now open.  Information on registration and conference details may be found at the Orthodox Christian Camping Association website ; Early bird rates in effect until January 1, 2014.  Registration is all-inclusive (meals, lodging and registration fees).

We strongly suggest that our parish invest in the strengthening of our youth programming by sending parish youth workers for this intensive and informative training. For questions please contact the Consistory OYM office at
