Great Lent Giveaway 2011!

UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE USA
CONSISTORY OFFIC OF YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY
PRESS RELEASE

Great Lent Giveaway 2011!

With the blessing of the Hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA we would like to announce that the 2011 Great Lent Giveaway will benefit the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Monastery Initiative.  In 2010, our Holy Ukrainian Orthodox Church inherited 30+ acres in eastern Pennsylvania with the purpose to become the home of our first UOC Monastery!

Our Hierarchs called their people to help make this prayer a reality. The 2010 Jr UOL Convention Body rose to the occasion and pledged to raise $5000.00 in a several year campaign.  The Consistory Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry is working with the Jr UOL through the Great Lent Giveaway to bring together all youth of the Church to realize this goal.

This year a new youth group session teaching our youth about Orthodox Monasticism and the vital role of monastic life in the church, will be provided each Wednesday during Great Lent.  You may download the first session now at www.uocyouth.org.

Be sure to read the Great Lent Giveaway How To, before you begin.   Any monies collected may be sent to:
